Member Candidate for Nationwide Board

March 2026 – James Sherwin-Smith a member of the Nationwide Building Society is hoping to get sufficient numbers of nominees (250) to support him in his attempt to stand as a candidate for election to the board of directors at the 2026 AGM.

James’ began his campaign in August 2024, following their proposed takeover of Virgin Money but refusing any member involvement, by trying to obtain the required number of nominees through his website.  So far his efforts have not attracted sufficient numbers.  Any attempt by any member no matter how highly qualified will be automatically fiercely opposed by the very anti-mutual Nationwide board.

Any member who attempts to take up their right as a candidate (a right advertised by the society) also has to face the infamous and undemocratic “Quick Vote” that the board uses to repel boarders.  In addition the directors will use any dirty tricks and misinformation that they can dream up.  So obtaining support and standing for election as a member candidate can be a daunting task and is deserving of full support.

If you are a qualifying member of Nationwide please give James your support by completing, signing and returning the (PART B only) nomination form to him as shown on his website – James4Nationwide.co.uk.  A scan or photo of the form can be emailed or posted.
