July 2026 – Following the Board elections
James did not gain a board seat at the AGM but over 75,000 Members rejected Nationwide’s infamous Quick Vote and “slow voted” instead in favour of James Sherwin-Smith’s election. James believes that a Special General Meeting is necessary to put forward resolutions needed to make the society democratic, to reject the infamous Quick Vote, to hold physical AGMs, to make the vote binding on boardroom pay and to raise the low standards of governance.
