National Trust Uses the Infamous “Quick Vote”

September 2023 – The National Trust has followed the corrupt practice used by building societies to bias their voting system.  The infamous “Quick Vote” trick was first used by the NT in 2022 and is set to continue.  It is sad that the management of yet another once respectable membership organisation and that was once a genuine mutual society has seen fit to sink to adopting the same low standards of corporate governance as those used by building societies.

The campaign group Restore Trust has submitted a resolution this year to ban the infamous “Quick Vote” but the resolution will itself be subject to the “Quick Vote” bias.  Therefore anyone using the “Quick Vote” will automatically be opposed to the proposed resolution to ban the “Quick Vote”.

We encourage anyone who is a member of the National Trust and who cares about democratic voting and who is opposed to such underhand and disreputable practices to vote for the member resolutions and to join Restore Trust as well as the BSMA.
