March 2016 – If you are a member of the West Bromwich Building Society please give your support to a member who is seeking to stand as a candidate for the board at the next AGM.
Simon Johnson, a retired 54 year old company director, needs to obtain 250 signatures in order to put his name forward. The chairman and secretary of this society are not making it easy for him. They have already rejected many nomination forms claiming that they do not qualify but refusing to provide reasons or be helpful in any way whatsoever.
Simon wants to enable members to have a voice in the running of this “mutual” society and that is the legal right of any member.
Supporters must have membership of at least two years with a minimum stake- holding (savings or mortgage) of £200.
Please help if you can and please ensure that you really do qualify as the board is not happy with members attempts to introduce genuine mutuality. Please contact Simon as soon as you can to enable him to make the necessary preparations.
